Traveling Projects

BANGLADESH

In November of 2019 I went to Bangladesh with Child Impact to film a documentary series on Adventist school that have sponsored students who couldn’t afford to go to school otherwise. I was able to make a big impact on the project and experience how much need there is in the world. Any chance that I’m able to help feels like my work is worth it. I know I have a lot to learn but this project was a blessing. I was able to both Direct and do camera for the series that now Airs on 3ABN Friday nights and sabbath afternoons.

RWANDA

In April of 2018 I went to Rwanda to make a documentary to help an organization and their school. They are teaching students new skills to help them benefit their country. Even though they are doing great work they still need help. I went shoot the documentary in order to help them spread the word of what they are trying to accomplish.

Those Unseen

Those Unseen is a narrative short film I directed that focuses on refugees. This short film is to show people the other side of these refugees. Showing them their emotional side and giving light to these people and their lives. Many people don't know truly what they are going through and why.

I want to make projects that help make a difference in peoples lives. If my work can benefit others then I want to do my part.

History

Born

I was born in Brazil. I didn't really have much going for me and my family. I was born in a poor city with a family that loved helping others. We never had much but still traveled a lot. That's how we went from Brazil to South Africa.

Raised

I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. Poverty there was the same. I didn't really understand much outside from the reality there. People didn't really try much in school and success was this impossible dream to attain.

Past Work

Filmography

I mostly focused on Cinematography and Directing when I was studying. Most of my work shown is cinematography because that's what I focused on for improvement. Along the way I had to learn producing and how to gather people together and find all the pieces to make a project work.

This was my senior thesis film. I was the cinematographer and wanted to push myself visually in order to tell a more compelling story from a childs point of view.

I was hired to make this video for the group that had left the University in order to start a company. I was tasked with creating interesting visuals for the narration and making the goodbye memorable.

This film was my first large project with cinematography. I learned how to work with a crew of around 50 people and how to do everything to get the shots done well but on time. Time was our enemy and I learned how to become efficient.

This film was the largest project I produced. I wanted to make a film that pushed my skills as a cinematographer but also told an interesting suspenseful story. Also making it all in one shot to make it feel real.

This video was made to say goodbye to the President of Southern. I was picked to help create the story and come up with visuals to make it warm and memorable.

This was my first film ever made. It was all scripted but chaotic methods for making it become a film. It was the project that made me want to work in film and advertising.

Photography

I worked on increasing my following and improving my photography skills. Having a voice is important and getting people who care about your work helps with improving yourself and getting your ideas out there.

My Instagram photos are almost exclusively taken with my phone. I decided to push myself with creativity and remove the excuse of having bad equipment.
